In December of 2015 President Obama signed into law the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This the first time since No Child Left Behind in 2002 that federal education law has been changed.  ESSA now includes Health and Physical Education in the definition of a "well rounded education". A panel of ESSA experts will explain the benefits that Health and Physical Education departments have by being included in ESSA and how to advocate for these benefits at the federal, state, and district levels.
